Other Details to Note

This is a working farm with llamas, sheep, goats and cows occasionally. No matter what they say, please do not let them out of their designated areas into the fenced yard of The Silo House. They'd love to sit on The Silo House porch and have a beer with you if they could. Our animals are fed a special diet. We will provide you with some llama feed and when you arrive, there will be instructions to how they are trained and fed so that you can feed the llamas if you like. Please do not take any feed past the gate at the Silo House. They are trained to know if you are in the pasture, there is no food involved. Lil D, the brown goat, loves to hang out with you when you fish. He also loves fishing tackle, so please close all tackle boxes and watch your poles, lures and hooks. We feed and put the animals up at night (depending on the weather and the season) at the barn and they know the routine about sundown and the routine at sun up. Every day is a new adventure at Laughing Llama Farm.

Accessibility

Neighborhood

We live on 10 acres in a rural area about 4 miles outside of Troy. When we say we are "going to town" this is Temple about 10 minutes away down I-35. Out here, there is little traffic, we do have neighbors near but you will feel like you have the whole place to yourself. It's laid back, easy going and no stress at the Silo House. Watch a few sunsets from the front porch, grill some steaks and enjoy what Temple, Belton, Salado and Waco have to offer just minutes away.

Guest Access

There is a pond on the property with gate access right outside the front door of the Silo House. Stocked with bass and perch for catch and release. Bring your gear and if you don't have any, we will be more than happy to loan you lures and rods if needed.

I cannot say enough about how we enjoyed this stay! The highlight was the farm experience, of course, so be sure to book that if you stay! On top of that, the area is so quiet and peaceful. Llamas, goats, and sheep come right up to the fence in front of the Silo, so you can feed them there, too. Bonnie is such a wonderful host. We just might have to come back!

The place feels magical and full of peace, and it has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Bonnie is very kind and always responded quickly to our questions. We would definitely come back again.

We had the most wonderful stay at the Silo House at Laughing Llama Farm! My boys absolutely loved spending time with the llamas, goats, and sheep — it was such a fun and unique experience for them. The property was sparkling clean, and the space itself is beautifully decorated with so many thoughtful touches. One of our favorite features was the outdoor shower — such a fun and relaxing experience! The entire atmosphere was peaceful and quiet, making it the perfect place to unwind. Check-in and check-out were incredibly easy, and everything about our stay felt comfortable and welcoming. We had an amazing time and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with a little farm charm. We can’t wait to come back!

The silo house was everything we expected and more. Everything was spotless. The personal touches really makes the silo what it is. We had so much fun looking at all the decor. The animals were a great time and added so much to the experience. We will be back for sure.

Laughing Llama Farm is the perfect getaway - lots of quiet in this rural setting. The animals are not intrusive if you don’t want them to be around, and are extremely friendly if you do. The silo itself is thoughtfully appointed (down to ziploc bags, eggs from the farm hens, spices for the grill, a kettle for my French press, super clean EVERYTHING, and very comfortable couches, chairs and bed). Bonnie is extremely responsive, and it’s clear she takes great pride in the place. Couldn’t recommend more highly!

We had the best time at Laughing Llama Farm! Bonnie is the best & we had a great morning with her learning all about the farm and meeting the animals. The house is fun, clean, cozy, and has everything you could need! Don’t miss the chance to shower outside under the stars, sit on the porch sipping coffee, or end your night with a fire and s’mores. Highly recommend!!
