Enjoy The Silo House At Laughing Llama farm, secluded and private, conveniently located within 25-30 minutes to everything Waco, Temple & Belton have to offer. The Silo House is a renovated grain bin moved from a family farm 50 miles away to its current location, The Laughing Llama Farm in Troy. The Silo House has an upstairs loft with a queen sized bed and a queen sized sofa sleeper downstairs with a full bathroom with shower downstairs - all making up a 672 square feet of renovated modern artistic eclectic charm inside of a one of a kind silo house. There is a private outdoor shower under the stars. Sit in the rocking chairs on the front porch or by the fire near our chiminea in our outdoor sitting area, grill steaks on the outdoor charcoal grill and watch the sun set over our little piece of Heaven. Bring your own rods and lures and fish in our pond (we call it a tank in Texas!) or spend the morning watching the llamas and the sheep graze while enjoying your coffee. It's slow and quiet out here and that's the way we like it. The kitchen has a full sized stove with an oven, refrigerator, freezer, microwave and an outdoor grill. If you choose to cook, all pots and pans, grilling utensils are available. This property is located on 10 acres with it's own private entrance off a paved road. There are neighbors close by, but this is a very private quiet space. Please be sure to follow The Silo House At Laughing Llama Farm for all the latest news and follow our journey. One night stays not available on weekends No monthly rates.

Other Details to Note

This is a working farm with llamas, sheep, goats and cows occasionally. No matter what they say, please do not let them out of their designated areas into the fenced yard of The Silo House. They'd love to sit on The Silo House porch and have a beer with you if they could. Our animals are fed a special diet. We will provide you with some llama feed and when you arrive, there will be instructions to how they are trained and fed so that you can feed the llamas if you like. Please do not take any feed past the gate at the Silo House. They are trained to know if you are in the pasture, there is no food involved. Lil D, the brown goat, loves to hang out with you when you fish. He also loves fishing tackle, so please close all tackle boxes and watch your poles, lures and hooks. We feed and put the animals up at night (depending on the weather and the season) at the barn and they know the routine about sundown and the routine at sun up. Every day is a new adventure at Laughing Llama Farm.

Neighborhood

We live on 10 acres in a rural area about 4 miles outside of Troy. When we say we are "going to town" this is Temple about 10 minutes away down I-35. Out here, there is little traffic, we do have neighbors near but you will feel like you have the whole place to yourself. It's laid back, easy going and no stress at the Silo House. Watch a few sunsets from the front porch, grill some steaks and enjoy what Temple, Belton, Salado and Waco have to offer just minutes away.

Guest Access

There is a pond on the property with gate access right outside the front door of the Silo House. Stocked with bass and perch for catch and release. Bring your gear and if you don't have any, we will be more than happy to loan you lures and rods if needed.

I stayed at the Silo with my 16 year old daughter and two of her friends. We had the best time hanging out with the animals and exploring nearby Waco and Temple. Beth was incredibly generous in sharing her expertise in animal behavior, farm stays, and even merchandising with the girls. This was a trip we will all remember for years to come.

My wife and I went to Bonnie’s pad to get away from our hectic work lives for the weekend. The silo is laid back, quiet and very peaceful. Bonnie herself was a groovy host… she has a gift shop where we purchased homemade pickles and a painting of her llama “Bruce”. We will be back.

Beyond perfection. The absolute best Airbnb we have stayed at by far. We were excited about being able to stay in a silo and have Llamas around, but once we got there it was so much more than we could have imagined. Tranquility, serenity, beauty, and a stillness that we are not able to experience in our typical day to day life. Their hospitality made us feel like we were at a home away from home. Thank y'all for providing us with a place where not only we're we able to enjoy the details in every nook and cranny of laughing Llama farm, but we were able to experience a place where we were truly blessed by all that LLF had to offer. ~ Brandee and Victor

This was one of the most peaceful and memorable Airbnb stays I’ve had. From the moment we arrived, the property exuded calm and charm. Interacting with the llamas was such a unique and joyful experience—they were gentle, curious, and added so much personality to the stay. The on-site barn store was a delightful surprise, stocked with great goodies that made it feel like a hidden gem. Bonnie, the host, was incredibly sweet and responsive. She went above and beyond to make us feel right at home, striking the perfect balance between attentiveness and giving us space to enjoy the property. If you're looking for a peaceful escape with a touch of farm magic, this is it. Can’t wait to come back!
