Other Details to Note

This is a working farm with llamas, sheep, goats and cows occasionally. No matter what they say, please do not let them out of their designated areas into the fenced yard of The Silo House. They'd love to sit on The Silo House porch and have a beer with you if they could. Our animals are fed a special diet. We will provide you with some llama feed and when you arrive, there will be instructions to how they are trained and fed so that you can feed the llamas if you like. Please do not take any feed past the gate at the Silo House. They are trained to know if you are in the pasture, there is no food involved. Lil D, the brown goat, loves to hang out with you when you fish. He also loves fishing tackle, so please close all tackle boxes and watch your poles, lures and hooks. We feed and put the animals up at night (depending on the weather and the season) at the barn and they know the routine about sundown and the routine at sun up. Every day is a new adventure at Laughing Llama Farm.

Accessibility

Neighborhood

We live on 10 acres in a rural area about 4 miles outside of Troy. When we say we are "going to town" this is Temple about 10 minutes away down I-35. Out here, there is little traffic, we do have neighbors near but you will feel like you have the whole place to yourself. It's laid back, easy going and no stress at the Silo House. Watch a few sunsets from the front porch, grill some steaks and enjoy what Temple, Belton, Salado and Waco have to offer just minutes away.

Guest Access

There is a pond on the property with gate access right outside the front door of the Silo House. Stocked with bass and perch for catch and release. Bring your gear and if you don't have any, we will be more than happy to loan you lures and rods if needed.

I was in the area to visit my daughter who lives in Austin and wanted to see how they finished out the silo. I have one on my property and am going to finish it for personal use. This one is very cute and well done. It was a relaxing and comfortable stay. I would stay again.

Thank you so much! Everything was great and we had such a nice time. My 5 year old was extra appreciative of the house skittles and I was very appreciative of the wine! The home was lovely and it was the perfect weekend getaway for me and my two kiddos. We especially loved the baby llama who was just so playful. Thanks again!

We wanted to take an unusual trip somewhere and found the laughing llama farm. What an amazing place. I can’t imagine anybody ever having a bad review. The silo was spotless and had everything you needed. It was adorable and so well decorated. There were lots of fun books to read and I had to run home and order some of them from Amazon because they were so unique and I didn’t have enough time to read them. 🤣 The outdoor shower was fun to use and so perfectly thought out. The llamas were so so sweet and we got to see a 2 1/2 week old baby and another pregnant mama due any day. Roster, the friendly goat ran to greet us when we arrived. There were other very friendly goats to pet and enjoy as well. Even the roosters seem to be sociable!! I wouldn’t change a thing about this place… It was an incredible 24 hours and we can’t wait to come here again!!

I stayed at the Silo with my 16 year old daughter and two of her friends. We had the best time hanging out with the animals and exploring nearby Waco and Temple. Beth was incredibly generous in sharing her expertise in animal behavior, farm stays, and even merchandising with the girls. This was a trip we will all remember for years to come.

What an outstanding and cozy place to stay- we thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The hostess thought of everything! We appreciated the wine, snack box, and koozies. We even used the fishing poles available to catch a fish! And how can you not enjoy meeting the llamas, sheep, and goat and taking time to feed them using the secret password! All details and instructions were provided- thank you, We've already recommended this place to others we know who would be interested,
